The Sacred Self Care Oracle

You can use it along side your tarot cards or as a daily card pull, just as with other decks, but this one also gives you a journal prompt so you can begin applying and thinking about how to implement the messages. This oracle deck just came out this year and is already one of my favorites. I don't have any other decks that are like this one. Each card has a flower, vegetable, fruit, or herb on it -- most of which I've not seen before on other decks. I mean, what other oracle cards have a banana or cauliflower on it?! If you're looking for a deck that has unique elements on it then this one definitely is a good one.

This animal themed deck pairs each card with it's own specific animal. They started with the Rider-Waite-Smith deck and have added their own spin to the cards. Some of the cards have been renamed and each suite is represented by an item found in nature - acorns for wands, feathers for swords, shells for cups, and crystals for pentacles.
The cardstock is nice for a $20 deck and is easy to shuffle. The colors are a soft pastel and the art looks to be made with pen and watercolors. This is an animal-centric deck so much of the focus is on the animals themselves and so there's not much to read off of in the scenery of each card. The guidebook provides messages that line up with the RWS deck but tie each one with the animal provided. They also recommended using this deck as an oracle card draw, if you find that it works better for you that way.
All in all, it is a beautiful deck that would be good for reading for someone who is nervous about having their cards read. The soft colors and the dream-like images of the animals is comforting to look at during a reading. The keywords do help to understand the deck, though as always, I recommend that you compare and contrast this deck with a more traditional RWS deck.

This is a zombie themed deck with such amazing artwork. They put a lot of thought into each card to add the necessary elements but with a zombie twist. The cardstock is pretty decent and not too thin. It is very matte and shuffles well. The cards come in a box that is decorated with bullets and a guidebook that is very themed to the deck. It's a creative and fun set to have and I find that people get excited when you pull these out during a reading.

Eight Coins' Tattoo Tarot

This is a vibrant deck with it's own spin on the RWS tradition. The cards are filled with symbolism that you often find in the tattoo world such as mermaids, snakes, roses, koi fish, candles, all seeing eyes, and stairways. They did redo some of the cards so that the artwork is more consistent throughout the deck. I like that they still included the original cards, so you have the option of keeping them in if you'd like.
The cardstock is nice and a bit on the thicker side. The cards are slightly glossy but they don't slip around when I shuffle them. The book that comes with the deck is very substantial and nice. It uses the imagery in the cards to give you advice on how to move forward with the information given. I do plan to trim the deck because they have art numbers and trademarks on each of the cards and I just would prefer them not to have that.
This deck wouldn't be bad for a beginner but I would recommend that you get a traditional deck along side it to compare and contrast the artwork. If you're not a beginner reader than these cards offer a brilliant new twist on the typical artwork that I find exhilarating. I love to compare these to other cards while I'm reviewing my decks because they use symbolism in such a different way. They really add a depth to the traditional cards that is fun to explore.

Sea Melodies Secret Garden Whispering Woods

These are small cards with simple key words and meanings that are great for adding to any reading. Each deck is themed to it's title: Sea Melodies for mermaids and ocean messages, Secret Garden for flowers and things that bloom, and Whispering Woods for trees and forest dwellers.
The cardstocks are very nice for this size of deck. They're all glossy but it shouldn't give anyone issues when shuffling because the size of the cards are so easy to handle. I love to add these into my readings. They make great clarifiers!
Much like Oracle cards, these cards provide additional information for your readings. They're simple to read and clients tend to love them. I definitely recommend getting these cards, or other message cards that you can add to your collection.

The Archeo Personal Archetype Cards

This Oracle deck is unlike most decks. Rather than providing a simple message, these cards encourage you to build an entire personal mythology. You can create an inner story about yourself now or in a past life, using the character cards provided. The guidebook is in color and provides information about each "character" card, as well as a detailed story or "tale" about their journey.
I like the level of cardstock being used. They are very glossy so they'll be rather slippery when shuffling. They included two blank cards so you can add your own archetype, though to be honest, that would be rather difficult given the amount of gloss on each card. Perhaps a permanent marker might work for it, but it will likely cause some color transfer to the other cards. If you are an art enthusiast and you have any recommendations for how to create these cards, I would love to hear about it!
Some uses for this deck might be to experiment with shadow work and past lives discovery, for those who enjoy that area of tarot. I'm not very familiar with it but I feel like it may even have uses in the Dungeons and Dragons (D&D) world, so if you're familiar with that then please let me know because I would love to find out! Perhaps it could help when building a character? I'm very curious.
This deck is not really a beginners deck, in regard to Oracle cards, but it is a unique way to build your card reading practice. These cards allow you to really embrace your intuition and elaborate on the images shown. That alone is a valuable asset to your ability to read tarot and oracle cards. They will take a bit of study and practice, but what a way to flex on your abilities once you do!

I highly recommend this oracle deck. It’s shown to be a favorite amongst tarot and oracle readers. I’ve seen many readers discussing this deck and I’ve yet to hear anyone not recommend it. Each card is gorgeously illustrated with a different moon phase that is paired with a key statement directly on them. They provide detailed interpretations for the cards and even give you an affirmation for you to use to manifest your needs. The cardstock is sturdy but still easy to shuffle. Overall, just a lovely deck for anyone who is interested in tarot/oracle cards, astrology, moon connection, and meditation.

Although the cardstock is very glossy and thin, I would definitely label this as an intermediate deck. They've taken quite a few liberties from the popular RWS deck and that might cause some confusion for new readers. The names for the Major Arcana are unique and won't really translate well to other AWS decks (like when using the term Trickster for The Fool card). For an experienced reader, this deck will offer a fun new spin on the traditional cards.
If you have a strong affinity for animal spirit decks then the artwork of these cards would be a beautiful addition to your collection!
